We provide health check-ups and essential medical treatments to over 13,000 children annually to prevent health risks. Parents and guardians are also given advice and information to improve their children’s health and hygiene knowledge.
Children aged 0-59 months with a weight below the -2 Z-score were enrolled in a nutrition program and received treatment, leading to their recovery. Additionally, parents and guardians have gained a better understanding of young children's nutrition, enabling them to provide nutritious meals and promote healthy eating habits.
We implement multiple projects to improve children’s oral health and enhance the knowledge of both children and parents on maintaining healthy oral hygiene habits. For example, the “Adventure of My Pretty Teeth” project provides oral health check-ups, training, and puppet shows for children and families in Ulaanbaatar and rural areas.
Additionally, the “Little Tooth Heroes” and “Healthy Teeth, Healthy Children” campaigns, in collaboration with several dental clinics and organizations, offer free dental check-ups, treatments, and training to improve knowledge and understanding of dental care practices.
We also focus on increasing adolescents’ knowledge of sexual and reproductive health. Through projects like “Erkhem Nandin,” which installs “Smart Sanitary Pad Machines” in schools and provides reproductive health training to members, teachers, social workers, and doctors of the target schools’ “Girls’ and Boys’ Clubs” in both Ulaanbaatar and rural areas, we have seen improvements in adolescents’ understanding of menstruation, sexual organs and their functions, the importance of preventing unwanted pregnancies, and less shame around talking about physical needs.
